Research log: what was searched and fetched, by phase, and what each piece was for

This is the record of the web research behind Moser Baer v4, v5 and v6, taken from the Claude Code session transcript with scripts/session-log.js (so it is complete, not remembered). Use it to avoid repeating searches, to see which sources the lessons rest on, and as the pattern for the next script's research. The findings are in principles.md, implicit-pull.md, voice.md and texture.md (each lesson, its sources and an evidence grade); this file is the trail. Times are UTC; the user's local time (IST) is 5 h 30 min later.

Research that is not in this log, because it happened in earlier sessions and is stored in the repo: the series study of "why X died" videos (transcripts/series-analysis/why-x-died/, README-SERIES-ANALYSIS.md, memory note project_why-x-died-series-study), the teardown of the 20 best videos (transcripts/series-analysis/why-x-died/teardown/), the Moser Baer research brief built from rival YouTube videos (research/the-fall-of-moser-baer/report.md, synthesis.json, produced by src/topic-research/cli.js) and the teardown of 7 Moser Baer videos (research/the-fall-of-moser-baer/teardown/SYNTHESIS.md). # Research log: what was searched and fetched, by phase, and what each piece was for

This is the record of the web research behind Moser Baer v4, v5 and v6, taken from the Claude Code session transcript with `scripts/session-log.js` (so it is complete, not remembered). Use it to avoid repeating searches, to see which sources the lessons rest on, and as the pattern for the next script's research. The *findings* are in `principles.md`, `implicit-pull.md`, `voice.md` and `texture.md` (each lesson, its sources and an evidence grade); this file is the trail. Times are UTC; the user's local time (IST) is 5 h 30 min later.

Research that is **not** in this log, because it happened in earlier sessions and is stored in the repo: the series study of "why X died" videos (`transcripts/series-analysis/why-x-died/`, `README-SERIES-ANALYSIS.md`, memory note `project_why-x-died-series-study`), the teardown of the 20 best videos (`transcripts/series-analysis/why-x-died/teardown/`), the Moser Baer research brief built from rival YouTube videos (`research/the-fall-of-moser-baer/report.md`, `synthesis.json`, produced by `src/topic-research/cli.js`) and the teardown of 7 Moser Baer videos (`research/the-fall-of-moser-baer/teardown/SYNTHESIS.md`). ## Lessons about doing this research

- Search the **person** before the company: the two profiles that changed the thesis were never opened in the first fact base.
- A fetch of a paywalled or app-wrapped page fails silently into a search summary; mark the row [V-search] and put it on the open list.
- Ask the fetch tool for **verbatim sentences** and a **publication date**; a summariser will paraphrase otherwise.
- Cross-check the *magnitude* of any figure in a second source before using it; the one-source "3,500 crore" was a garble.
- Re-run the searches that failed with different keywords once; do not loop.
